On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Ateliers Belleville opened its doors to Montreal's digital community for the 46th edition of Composite. Presented by Eastern Bloc, Ateliers Belleville, and the Goethe Institut Montréal, with the support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal and coordination by MAPP_MTL, the event also brought together several partners including MUTEK, SAT, NFB, and XN Québec. In total, sixteen projects were presented, in the form of 5-minute presentations or short 1-minute interventions. The submitted projects fell under the categories of art, research, industry, or social innovation, reflecting the diversity of approaches gathered that evening. In addition, there were the "Composite Minutes," an open space where anyone could come present a project, initiative, or idea in just 60 seconds.
About a hundred participants were present, bringing together a good number of players in Montreal's digital creation scene, including artists, researchers, and industry professionals. The event was a resounding success, and Composite continues to play its role as a meeting space between art and industry, encouraging exchange and the circulation of ideas among the different spheres present.
A big thank you to all the participants for making this evening an important gathering for Montreal's digital creation community, and congratulations to the artists for the richness of the projects presented.
