Join us for the thirteenth concert in the series featuring exploratory / improvised / concrete / listening music and/or audio art.
The programming for this edition of ECHOS is presented by Ryan Alexandre Diduck, editor-in-chief and publisher of NicheMTL. NicheMTL is a Canadian non-profit media platform dedicated to emerging practices in art, music, fashion, and culture in Montreal.
This edition of ECHOS XIII presents:
Ida Toninato
Based in Montreal, Ida Toninato is a baritone saxophonist, composer, and record producer whose singular voice fuses breath, resonance, and immersion. An explorer of acoustic phenomena, she dissolves the boundaries between instrument, voice, and architecture by drawing inspiration from spaces in transformation. Her performances are rooted in a ritualistic approach to deep listening. A sought-after collaborator, she forms a JUNO and Opus Award-nominated duo with violist Jennifer Thiessen, whose recent album, Dream of Heat, was produced by Jason Sharp (Ambiances magnétiques, 2026).
Racine
Montreal-based composer, sound engineer, and producer Julien Racine, or simply Racine, has released six albums, including his most recent, Comedia (Haunter Records, March 2025). His album Quelque chose tombe (Danse noire, 2020), acclaimed by international critics, took him on a European tour as well as to MUTEK Montreal.
He has also composed and produced the sound design and mixing for several films presented in theatres, festivals, and galleries. He also forms the duo Corporation with Keru Not Ever.
Quinton Barnes
Montreal-based rapper and producer Quinton Barnes has gained international recognition through his unique style. Since 2018, he has built a prolific and constantly evolving discography. His album CODE NOIR was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize and was quickly followed by the collaborative album BLACK NOISE. Barnes is known for his energetic and intense stage performances.
