On Saturday, September 26, Ateliers Belleville presents the fifteenth edition of its ECHOS concert series, dedicated to experimental music and sound art, showcasing three artists from the group exhibition Construction/Conduction.
Rehab Hazgui
Rehab Hazgui is a Tunisian transdisciplinary sound artist based in Montréal. Through composition, analog synthesis, installation, and handmade electronics, she develops modes of listening attentive to the transformation of environments, the traces they retain, and the temporalities that unfold within them. Her work approaches sound as a living vestige inscribed in organisms, materials, objects, and technical systems, and reshaped by time and use.
Simone Provencher
Simone Provencher is a Montreal-based musician and analog circuit designer. Her practice, at the intersection of exploratory music, improvisation, and analog electronics, focuses on sound manipulation and the elasticity of electronic signals. She designs instruments, interfaces, and objects that connect instrumental practice with the possibilities of electronic sound sources.
Stephanie Castonguay
An experimentalist at heart, Stephanie Castonguay develops a hands-on practice rooted in materiality, listening, and transformation. Through the construction of DIY instruments and the repurposing of obsolete machines, she explores sound as a living process shaped by touch, decay, and unpredictability. Her work reveals hidden resonances within analog systems, where fragility, accidents, and attention become tools for improvisation and presence.
