Two months have already passed since the opening of LAB-545 last June. After a wonderful summer, we are ready to welcome you back into our spaces, which will come alive throughout September. Our programming includes group exhibitions, free workshops, guided tours, and a concert.
Construction/Conduction
September 18–27
Construction/Conduction is a group exhibition bringing together six artists who work with electronics and electricity for their sonic and visual properties. Electronic components are approached as sculptural objects. The artists have paid particular attention to materials, their potential for activation, and their performative dynamics.
Developed through a long-term laboratory process involving the artists and curators, the exhibition takes shape within the space, where each work intentionally intertwines with and influences the others, creating a carefully considered sound composition collectively orchestrated.
The exhibition Construction/Conduction, curated by Mathieu Arsenault and Sarah Ève Tousignant, will be presented from September 18 to 27, 2026.
The artists: Anne-F Jacques, Darsha Hewitt, Léa Boudreau, Rehab Hazgui, Simone Provencher and Stephanie Castonguay.
ECHOS XV
September 26
On Saturday, September 26, Ateliers Belleville presents the fifteenth edition of its ECHOS concert series, dedicated to exploratory music and audio art, featuring three artists from the group exhibition Construction/Conduction. Sound artist Rehab Hazgui approaches sound as a living remnant, shaped by analog synthesis and handmade electronics. Musician and circuit designer Simone Provencher explores the elasticity of electronic signals through instruments she builds herself. Stephanie Castonguay repurposes obsolete technologies — biocomposite records, modified turntables — to reveal their unexpected sonic delights.
Journées de la culture
September 26
Ateliers Belleville is preparing for its first participation in Journées de la culture, as part of the event’s 30th edition. We invite the public to explore our spaces through a free guided tour of the building or by taking part in one of two creative workshops offered by member artists.
This day is an invitation to discover LAB-545’s specialized workshops and facilities, and an opportunity to meet the artists who work here and gain a better understanding of their practices and work.
